My grandson in CA been asked to represent his high school in Washington DC. He has no idea how or why his name came up.
My son is trying to get the company he works for to sponsor him because it costs about 5 grand for him to go. I used to work for the same company and I don't think they will do it. I wish we had the money to send him, and I wish I knew what this conference is about.
If he goes or not we are very very proud of him.

Oh wow! That is great! Once you find out more I hope that you can find people/businesses to sponsor him. Maybe even your son should contract their congressman and see what he can suggest.....

Stop the train! Why is HE supposed to raise five grand if he's been invited? What organization asks the kid to raise the money? Something is fishy here. I would call the head of the inviting organization to find out what this is all about.
