I've done this before... is spooky. One lived right by my sis...
I check the list for my community from time to time. Distressing to see just how many are on the list and close by.On the other hand, "the list" can be decieving. A man in his sixties who lives down the street from me is listed. He had a single offense over forty years ago. That would have made him a very young man ... teens or early twenties. Sex offenders are repeat offenders ... they don't stop. So why did this man offend only once? It's quite likely that his charge was statutory rape for having a girlfrind who may well have been quite near his own age, but young enough for her family to have him arrested. That can (and does) happen with a seventeen year old boy who has a sixteen year old girlfriend. I'm not saying the list is a bad idea. I think it's a wonderful tool for community awareness. At the same time, don't jump to conclusions about the folks listed. Most of them are pretty evil people, but some of them may not be.
It is very spooky nelle, I pulled up names where some of my Grandchildren live and for such a small town it was awful how many were listed.I agree Skeet you 100%. BTW do you have a blog?
No blog for me. Keeping up with all of you y'alls feeds is enough of a time suck as it is! :0)
