No cooking, no dishes and about 10 hours

sleep a night. Can't get much better than that! We went down to Brian and Carol's on Sunday. No planning involved. He telephoned us on Saturday afternoon and said come down tomorrow for a couple of days, so off we went down to the Greater London area. No traffic to speak off considering it was a Bank Holiday Weekend. Ha my sister in law got her own back on me. She would not let me help at all. Not even yesterday when they had a BBQ planned. I didn't put one dish in the dishwasher, I didn't help prepare any meals and she shouted at me if I tried to clean off the table. Gads I felt really guilty because I know she's still in loads of pain in her leg and knee.

I didn't go to bed any later than 11pm either night and slept like a log until my hubby woke me up in the mornings. Normally at home the earliest I go to bed is as least midnight then I have trouble getting to sleep.

I'm such a stay at home person, that I didn't really want to go, I only said yes because I know that hubby wanted to go. We caught up with two of the nieces we hadn't seen in a few years. Got to meet their totally gorgeous sons. I ended up having such a good time that I want to do it again soon!

The drive home was pretty good until hubby got off the motorway to get gas and of course wouldn't stop and ask direction. We ended up having a nice drive, finally found a gas station that charged a whole £1 per litre and made it home safe and sound, only about a half hour more drive time that normal:-)

Awww my Spike was so good. He's never been on such a long car journey before. Poor baby got sick in the car once on the way down, then we found a nice pull in, that lead to a public footpath so I could take him for a walk and let him do his business. I was afraid that he might "mark" his spot when we got inside B and C's but the weather was so nice he could went straight out into the back garden and watered the bushes. He didn't sleep at all during the day only when he could get on the bed with us at night so I bet he sleeps for the next three days. LOL he's already been a sleep on both the couches, in his doggy bed and on both of our beds since we got home about three hours a go.

Good company, great food, good wine and lots of sleep makes for the perfect get away.

Now if I had just remembered to bring my cell phone home with me I could have posted some pictures of those gorgeous baby boys and one gorgeous toddler.
